The African Corridor

The African continent and her children dispersed throughout the world are often depicted in less favorable and accurate light than other ethnicities and regions with stories of wild animals running around, starving kids, rampant corruption, and primitive living from boarder-to-border. These images serve a purpose politically and psychologically as a 'justification' to hold Africa and Africans as being 'less than' other ethnicities BUT it goes beyond that, it discourages people who truly want to experience Africa from not making the effort to vacation or travel there for cultural and historically purposes.

African Corridor simply aims to create the dignified passage to the continent for all who want to make that trip. Our primary target group are Africans-in-the-Diaspora and for them to see, feel, touch, taste, sleep in, wake up, and experience their origin, but not only them as we are mindful that all mankind are truly "one creation" and therefore feel it will be equally an enriching experience for people of all backgrounds to come along.

The truth is, Africa is the most diverse continent on the planet. Her cities are vibrant, cultures are diverse, and people come in every shade of the rainbow. Her tribes shower her with the majestic grace, dignity, strength, intelligence, art, music, dance, cuisine, customary laws and traditions like no other space on earth. Then of course, there are the rain forests, deserts, open plains, exotic animals, and breathtaking waterfalls we hear so much about. We have experienced it and want to share this life changing experience with you.

African Corridor will take 30 people (singles and couples alike) to the continent that gave birth to mankind and civilization. Our 10-day tour package will be a two-country stop that includes:

•     2-day stay and guided tour in the capital or commercial city of each visiting country to experience the urban setting with the expected "tourist" stops and collegiate visit to learn about the country from a historic standpoint.

•     1-day guided journey and stay into the interior of each visiting country and meet with rural chiefs to learn about the tribal culture (religion, tradition, language, and customs and practices) and experience the rural and traditional setting that in most cases have remained unchanged for centuries.

•     Visit the national university for a 2-hour history on the host country and its place in the African and Afro American experience.
